light on running board question?

light on running board question?
The light on the driver side running board on my 2003 X is staying on after the doors are closed. Anyone have any idea what is going on? They will go off but usually it takes 30 minutes or so. It is only the driver side. I have only had it for a few weeks so I am not too knowledgable yet. Any help is appreciated.
