Friday Morning Cold Start
YouTube - 2006 6.0 powerstroke diesel cold start



I am using Mobil 5W-40. It has 3,000+ miles on it and I put the bypass filter on a little under 2,000 miles ago. I have kept the oil changes under 6,000 miles. Back home (sac) 80% of the time I use a block heater and when I am in Tahoe I use it 100% of the time during the night, except for yesterday and today.
Today I will do another vid with the camera out side of the cab.

Those temps were cold. Now Im going to change to 5w-40. Mine still has the 15w40 dino. And mine doesn't sound that good at 25 degrees. Thanks for taking the time.

5w-40 synth.... any synth beats dino.

Petrocanada Duron-e will beat most synth!

I did another cold start this morning but it was 20* warmer this morning so I did not do another video. It started up just fine

I don't think any worries, sounds like mine on a cold start - not that it gets terribly cold on the Island. When I lived in the interior with -30 temps my old 7.3 sounded like 30 guys breaking rocks with sledge hammers for a few minutes.
