I need a new gas BBQ grill. I've started looking around and haven't been too impressed. Are there any out there that are not made in China? I think I need to spring for stainless steel grates and don't mind spending a little extra, but I don't want any $5k model either. Anyone have good experience or luck with a propane grill?
Hey Chris, sometimes it's funner making your own. I got $300 into this so far. When I'm done I'll be able to cook a brisket, bake a pizza, grill burgers and make fajitas all at the same time.

I might make a smoker one of these days Woody, but for now I'm just looking for a little propane fired one. It's just me and the wife at home now, but I still like to cook grill some food a couple of times a week. The propane grill makes it so much quicker to just fire it up and throw something on there after coming home from work while enjoying a cold one on the back porch. It doesn't seem worth the effort to fire up a smoker for one steak after a 12 hour shift when you're hungry. I like quick and easy.
I've got a mesquite tree out back I keep chopping branches off of into little pieces then wrap a pile of pieces in tin foil, poke some holes in the foil and toss it in the grill to add that smokey flavor.
