Morning CT long time no BS
What brings me back is the opinion of friends
So ray & Aaron can u guys give me real world feedback on the 6.7
We r looking at ordering a 2011 f550 to replace our 2000 f550
Current truck is a 2000 f 550 reg cab 12 ft dump with a 7.3 and a zf6 so needless to say we r spoiled when it comes to reliability and productivity
6.7 is incredible. the auto trans is really nice as well. when you have a load the tow haul mode is really nice for acceleration and especially engine braking. both trucks have had no issues that i can recall, ray would know for sure. my favorite feature....the 550 turns as sharp as a skid steer, the front tires kick over almost completely perpendicular to the rears.
My 2011 350 can get up to 21mpg on the highway, will tow a house w/400hp/800tq.
The 550 doesnt have as much power, or get great mileage, but that truck is constantly loaded at around 17,000lbs. I have had absolutely NO issues w/either truck. I have over 15,000 miles on the 350, I think you will be very happy.
Guys I was just thinking and I am going to through this out there for a May GTG.
We could all ( family's and significant others ) go to the Madison Surf Club.
It is a nice beach with a great picnic area along with playgrounds, basket ball courts.
If we go before Memorial Day there is no one at the gate checking and charging.
The Monson Hill Cimbs are May 29th if anyone is interested, I will actually bring a grill this time.
Anyone driving around North Branford in the area where Village Street meets 22 be VERY careful.
I almost got pegged by some little jerkoff driving a plow for North Branford. OBS Ford with a 9' Fisher plow. No amber lights and whipping through stop signs at had to be 25+ never even took his foot off the accelerator.
Saw him twice in the same area there going to and from my house from the shop. First time he would've hit me if I wasn't paying attention. Second time I saw him coming and pulled off onto a side street before he came whipping through. If I ever meet the lovely individual he will get a lesson on CT law regarding who IS and ISN'T allowed to disregard traffic signals and when.
Only reason I know it was a town truck not some plow-happy private truck is that it had the town name on the door.
Must be one of the town plow rookies. Can't get good help these days.
This is my last night in Long Island for a couple weeks, It will be real good to spend weeknights at home with my dogs and wife. Im sorry, I mean wife and dogs.
Miles, I do not believe ( how the f do you spell belive ) I have seen you at Monson yet, If you love Fords, you NEED to see Aaron take my Ranger / w / the 460 / over the top..............
