If your truck is running the Microsoft SYNC system, I wanted to give you a little 411.
You can not run a Vehicle Health Report (VHR) with a device plugged into the OBDII port. You must disconnect, shut off the engine and open a door to allow the system to power off completely. Then start the ignition.
Also, The Sync report came pack 100% with MODS in place.
Has anyone ever gotten any useful information out of a VHR? I ran it a couple of times but don't see much benefit. I wonder what's actually transmitted though....

I just figured since one section of the report is "Engine, transmission & emissions," ....well, I'll let you figure out how that may be useful.
I was wondering if a simple standard OBD-scanner or code reader is considered a mod...
suppose I was doing some legitimate debugging/logging while driving stock with one plugged in the port... and my automatic scheduled VHR report happens to start
What I was originally wondering was whether a VHR transmits any cleared CEL codes and/or the PCM flash version/checksums or whatever that's running. If the latter, I wonder if Sync's database permanently records whether we're running a non-factory tune--if so, is that considered an invasion of privacy?
The few reports that I ran basically came back with the usual scheduled maintenance reminder stuff that was coming up and nothing useful otherwise.
My automatically scheduled VHR quit happening after I installed the CTS, which I use only to monitor the truck. It is not a tuner. So like what RM2738 said it won't work. This makes sense to me because after I installed it, the scheduled VHR quit happening, and when I tried to manually start one it would say the service was unavailable.
My system came on asking me if I would like to run a VHR. I tried to send it to my phone that was set-up on the blue tooth system but it said it could send it... Any advice before I break out the manual.. Truck was due for an oil change when this occurred but after doing an oil change, it has not asked again! Truck only has 7600 miles on it FTR.

If you don't have a tuner or electronic module plugged into the OBDII port, your guess is as good as mine. You can try resetting the unit using the master reset funtion.
