no power

Hello i'm new to this sight and i have a problem that i'm looking for some advice on.I have a 2006 f 550 with the 6.0. I was coming up a hill today with 25 pounds of boost then it felt like a tire blew and lost all power. The boost gauge went to zero and there seems to be no leaks in the piping. Any ideas.

Welcome to FTE!

Have you checked all of the hoses and clamps to the turbo and intercooler?

Yes they all look good and are tight. The truck has a little less than 50,000 miles on it too. i guess what i want to know is if I take the pressure side pipe off if i should feel it blowing air out of the turbo. I can feel it sucking air through the pipe going into the inter coller.

Not sure on that one. I'm going to move your thread to the 6.0 forum where it will likely get more responses.

1. pull codes

2. verify EGR valve operation.

3. do you have turbo fart or other evidence of turbo jammed.

NO i took the air intake off and it spins nice and freely. I've felt the turbo fart before when i would let off after accelerating hard but nothing really unusual.

I hate to belabor the point, and I know you said they look good, but please check all of the boots again very carefully...feel all around them to be certain there are no tears, because your description that "it felt like a tire blew" sure sounds like a boot has either popped off or had a hole torn in it, and the result of that happening would be a loss of boost.

Good point --- easiest way to check it is to look / feel for a rush of air with the thing running.

Is there a schematic on here for the turbo on it? I don,t think its a torn boot because i should here the hiss and it don,t even sound like the turbo is boosting under load.
