I took the large mirrors off my 70 and I'm installing a set of the small factory stye mirrors! I made a template from an old set of doors I have, But the placement of the pass. side is 1-2" ahead of that of the drivers side. Is that right?I just want to make sure before I drill the holes!
Thanks,Johnny

My email is selman@beachlink.com. Does the pic show both sides? All I really need to know is if the pass side is 1-2" closer to the front than the drivers.
Thanks,Johnny
I have searched thru a ....lot of pics of these trucks trying to find the answer with no luck. Some trucks both sides appear to be the same while others look as if they are different . The angels of the pics aren't usual good on both side to make an accurate decision.
If anyone has small factory mirrors on their truck and will measure the distance from the front of the door to the mirror on each side i would greatly apreciate it.
Thanks,Johnny

Myself, I prefer them at the same distance from the front. I notice that most mirrors seem to be mounted just at the pillar for the wing vent/ side glass. This places the mirror just barely behind the pillar and gives good vision. Usually mounted about an inch or so below the window line. I put some 80's ford mirrors on mine a while back. I mounted mine in this position and it worked out fine.
Do a double check on the vision before you nail them down.. MK
I have another little tip...make sure you can still open the wing vent. I painted a couple of the van/truck mirrors from wally world and put them on...today i was needing some ventilation and the window clears by about 1/8 of an inch.
