Aww shucks, you carrying half loads again?

Since wood is your thing, how's this for a load?

Step on the brake pedal? Was only going about 4 miles on quiet back roads with that load. Actually it's a bit deceiving too, it's a wood we call manitoba maple, it's a soft deciduous, likely about the same weight as a really wet cedar. There was also a fair bit of airspace in around the large piece that you see, it had a bad bend in it that made it hard to get a nice load. In reality I bet there was only around 2-2.5 tons or so on there, 3 at the absolute most.

When you're loading it with a 15 ton excavator, the hardwood stakes won't handle a lot of force loading stuff like this!

I just realized I snapped that pic just a few days before I screwed my hitch.....that is going to be another project in the next couple weeks to rebuild it. I had likely 4-5 tons of fill on the truck, and caught a rock while backing down a slope....bent the centre portion of the hitch ahead about 3-4". To be honest though, I've never really liked the design of this particular hitch, it always seemed like there was too much leverage the way the receiver tube is setup.
