Muriatic acid will eat the concrete away. What you want to try to do is "draw" the stain out of the concrete.

What kind of a stain are you trying to remove?

Give a power washer a try. Only problem I've found with that method is, it makes the concrete look so good where you're cleaning it, that you feel obligated to all the rest of the concrete.

What I learned & used from years ago is plain ole TIDE laundry soap Granulated. Wet the concrete sprinkle on some Tide & get a stiff broom & work it real good then wash off. It may take a few times.

I just use some cement powder and rub it on the oil stain.

Radiator Specialty Company (Yes, the folks who make Gunk engine cleaner)
Have a product that works great, it's called SWAB.
Get the powder, not the liquid.

I have had good luck with a cleaner called "Oil eater" made by Kafko International Ltd.
I get it from my oil supplier. Google it to find dealers, it is great on smooth shop floors, don't know about rough driveways.

Are you going to use the garage floor epoxy and chips on your driveway, or inside the garage??
(No mention of garage until now. . . . )

IF you're trying to remove stains from the garage floor, get some "Clean-Sweep" and spread that on the old oil stains and let it sit for a day, or so.

Repeat a couple of times. "Clean-Sweep" will HELP draw the oil out.

Also CRC Brakleen will cut/disolve oil, too.

I went to the Dollar Tree and bought 2 bottles of the off-brand GREEN degreaser and 2 bags of cheap clay kitty litter. Sprayed on liberally and then put litter on top. Then took a stiff broom and worked it in.....added more degreaser and topped with cat litter. Let it sit for a few hours, then repeated the procedure. Worked like a charm...most of my stain was transmission fluid, though.

Powdered laundry detergent with bleach works great. Don't wet the concrete, just sprinkle it on scuff it in with your shoe and let it set. Next time it rains the stain will be gone.
