Broken Starter Mount. PICS

After what I thought was other starting issues i come to find out that the bracket to hold the starter has broken in half. I just had the transmisson replaced last month and now all of a sudden the half of the bracket/mount is attached to the starter and other half on the motor. The starter does mount to the Transmisson correct????

The starter bolts to the plate, which is in between the transmission and the engine block. Clear as mud now? It does not bolt to the bellhousing.

I'm guessing again (this is going to bite me soon ) but the tranny is a Ford unit - and used on the 5.4 and 6.8's also - and the 7.3 engine is an Navistar/International therefore the need for this spacer. Maybe this is the reason for the threads to be on the spacer verses on the tranny? Like I stated, just guessing.

yea but i have been looking at pictures of transmission and it seems like there are holes for the bolts. Thats it. Sorry if im not on your level. I have now viewed pictures of the plate. Could over tightening the bolts to the plate cause it crack they way it did.
