I decided to take the entire pump to a longtime family mechanic to have him take a peek. He mainly works on modern day rides, but rebuilds classic cars from time to time, including some award winning Cobras. He said it just needs a new seal kit, mainly that original O-ring I pointed out in my first post. So I walked next door to the O'Reilly Auto Parts and ordered the kit. $20.00
I'll let you guys know if that solves the problem. If not, I'll just buy a whole new pump.
Well, 3 days after replacing the 2 o-rings on the inlet connector - no leaks!
Glad it was that simple..... thanks again for all the help.
Ready to tackle the next leak..... the speedometer cable and tranny fluid.
Thanks for the 'headsup' hopefully the leak on my 65 only involves replacing couple 'o' rings. The way luck has been going probly should start looking for p/n for 70 302 pump. Oh, use to be on HF discount coupon email list and with the coupon purchased their pulley remover for about $15, so far used it couple tiimes and it worked okay.
