I thought long and hard about buying the car and did the math on having both, but the way I figured it the car should pay for it's self in three years with no major breakdowns. The only real extra cost other than the purchace of the car is the plates.
I had a few thoughts about picking up another vehicle to save miles on this truck, but then I thought... I bought the truck to drive, I love the truck, I love driving this truck, why go through the expense of owning another vehicle...
I have toyed with this idea a few times as I make 40000 kms/year. I think it would pencil out to save a few miles on the truck and wear out tires that cost $100 each, not $450. However, I am still here cuz I was in a full sized truck when I hit that bull elk that resulted in totalling off an F350 dually!
Thats got a lot to do with it also Warren. I'd much rather drive my truck, and have my wife and family in a truck just for the added protection. I tried out a small car every now and then thinking of a small commuter for momma, but each time I'd take a test drive, come up behind a stock 1/2 ton truck and see that bumper at eye level, I'd turn around and return the car and forget that I even considered buying one!!
Now, don't try and tell us that you didn't aim for that elk...
I like driving a truck too, I guess I just like having low miles on my truck more. As for taking mom and the baby, they never ride in the car. I just use it to commute to work, if we are going some where as a family it's in the suv.
Different strokes for different folks... My love for driving my truck far outweighs my desire to have a low mileage truck. I see your views though, but I like mine better
I like Trico wiper blades. Trico originally invented the wiper blade in 1917. You do know wipers are supposed to be changed once a year?
Let me guess...this idea was founded by a wiper salesman? Far as I see it, if it still clears the windshield without streaks or scratches I say they're good.
