I'm a volunteer firefighter and want to put a headlight flasher unit in my 97 F150. To order the correct unit, I need to know if the headlight system utilizes positive or negative switching.
I have no idea what this means or what my truck might have.
Most of the trucks I have seen are positive switched, meaning the headlights are grounded to the rad support and the power wires are fed thru the headlight switch. Of course these are all pre-80's trucks
I am unsure of the newer trucks....so maybe a quick call to a Ford Dealer would confirm what you have. I seem to recall that the newer trucks have relays for the lights which could be negatively switched....
Not much help am I
