help with e40d superior **** kit

hello,

i am having a little trouble with the superior k-e40d shift kit
the instructions tell me to remove the springs in the pressure regulator and replace them with a single blue spring... the kit comes with 2 blue springs and i dn't see anywhere in the instructions where i use the other blue spring. the larger spring looks identical to the green spring that is removed but if i use that spring it allows the spool to fall out of the pressure regulator spool. so i assum that i need to use the smaller spring witch when it is installed the valve ad spool all seems to work right. i just would like a little clearification if anyone else has installed this kit or has some good transmission background... thanks in advance..

The spool valve in the pressure reg sleeve is held into place by the top of the pressure reg valve in the pump once it is all the way in its bore of the pump. Use some assembly grease to hold the spool valve in place inside the sleeve and use the big spring.

Hope you understood that

yes i got it.. that does help

now i am discarding the small brown spring and just using the larger blue spring what does this do for the pressure regulator?

wouldn't less spring pressure mean less pump pressure or am i looking at that wrong?

i was wondering is the instruction for this kit ment i needed to use both the blue spring but this increases the spring pressure.

The smaller spring separates the two valves, therefor the booster valve has to overcome spring pressure to act on the pr valve, so without this spring it should give you a faster line pressure rise. I think...

The big spring should close to the same size as the one that came out, at one time I think there a smaller one used and the shift kit is just making sure you have the latest one.

I would have to see the instructions you have to help you with the question about the other blue spring, I have used that kit before but I cant remember dealing with that other spring. It may go in the 1-2 accumulator valve train in the valve body.
