I have installed my livewire extreme canned "performance" tune for a few days. I decided last night that I would try out the canned "extreme" tune. everthing loaded correctly. I went and drove the truck several miles, then decided I would come back home and try the canned "tow" tune. Here is my problem.
When i got back home I plugged my livewire back up to my OBD2 port the handheld unit DID NOT light up with a blue background screen as it has in the past when I connected it, instead, it gave me this message: THIS IS NOT A LIVEWIRE 6.4L VEHICLE INSTALL THE CORRECT FIRMWARE VERSION.
When I plug my livewire up to my laptop or home pc it does the same thing and gives me the same message.
thanks, I did call sct but they are closed until until January 2 . I emailed them for some help but have not heard back from them yet, there answering machine said they would respond to a limited amount technical support questions over the holiday, so hopefully they will call me or email me with a fix.
I do not think it has anything to do with my truck or batteries. Like I said in my origional post, even when I plug the sct livewire into my Laptop, it does and says the same thing.
I got a email back from sct today, they requested my serial number from my tuner. I emailed them back and gave them the info they requested. I did not hear back from them this afternoon. I will keep ya posted on the outcome for future reference.
Had to send the sct livewire unit back to SCT. It had a issue they could not fix over the phone. overnighted it to them, and they are suppose to overnight back to me.
I got the same thing and they O/N a new unit to me and we got it programmed on Friday night. One Tech, Donny, went way beyond what could be expected from a tech department and got my new unit programmed at 10:30 PM on Friday, That is service and dedication to a company. I have a 6.4 Diesel 08 dually F450. I put on the delete pipe for both the DPF/CAT and drove to San Antonio Tx yesterday.
Use to get just about 11.8 mpg on trip and yesterday I got 20.2 over and 19.1 mpg on way home. Was VERY HAPPY. However, on way home it, the engine sounded like it was a jet engine at over 2700 rpm. So I dropped 4 mph and sounded better. Will call them in the morning to find out what is going on. Shifting was good and acts like a hot rod now. Have to watch that footfeed as it has quick jump!!!
I am not fully happy with the sound of the unit...have others done this and did you change out the end pipe that Ford furnishes as stock? Maybe changing the muffler would also help? So will see what they say on Monday.
