OK if you are talking about the cast aluminum blocks for the rear of your truck keep your $20.00 bucks, they are unsafe for you and other drivers around you. Coil spring spacers fit in the same category.
i use spacers on my 66 mustang on the front coil springs because it has a 351 in it instead of a 289 and the extra weight lowers the front end. i've never had one fall out. they keep the front up more, but i wouldn't use em on a truck. mine are probably differant than the ones you saw, though. mine screw into the coils with a 1/2 inch rachet. 2 per spring. you are maybe talking about something that sits under the spring to raise it?
If they are the spacers that go on either end of the coil spring, thats OK but, you mind as well just get bigger/better coil springs. If they are the little ones that go inside the coil, you never want to use those because they ruin the spring.
I tried those coil spring spacers on my jeep cherokee and they raised it about an inch if that. I will give them credit though i hit some hard stuff and not once did they fall out.
My ranger is has a 2 ince suspension lift in the rear, and no lift in the front, its has stock size tires on it and looks really bad like that. I know that coil spacers arent the safest option but it would be the easyest and most cost effective, since im poor and i dont want to put that much money into this beater truck. What are the safest type of coil spacers and how/where would i get them?
The spacers that go on either end of the coil spring are fine. It's the ones that go inside the windings of the coils that are bad, they ruin the spring.
Awesome truck there, stang! That's exactly the look I'm going for. Mine is a 92 F-150, XLT, SC, 4x4, LB 5.8L. It is white in color.
Just bought it about a month ago for $3200. It is completely stock with 235/75/15 michelin ltx m/s tires on it. Rather than the stock aluminum rims yours (and I believe most Eddie Bauer's do) has, it has the steel chrome style rims that should look pretty good with the 32s. Also, a plain white topper on it. But the idiot who owned before I got it, welded an enclosed dog box in the front of the bed and cut access doors on both sides of the side of the bed. I bought another bed and I am in the process of fixing the minor dings and re-painting it.
I am taking before and after pictures as well. There is one, albeit a night shot, on my gallery. Notice the "doggie door" at the front of the bed just behind the cab. I will post more later.
I was looking at tires and everyone here says go with the BFG M/Ts or Bridgestone Dueler M/Ts. I like both of those, but I also found some Uniroyal Laredo M/Ts that look very similar and I've not heard anything bad about them. What do you think? I live in Montana right now and get my share of snow and mud and slush.
Also, someone had some pics of a 95 like your with 32s and Moog leveling coils on the front. From the looks of yours, the leveling coils are unnecessary. Have you encountered any rubbing on the front tires?
