coil spring grind
Hey I have a 79 f-150 supercab 4x4 with a 4 inch lift. My problem is that at slight spring compression there is a grinding noise coming from the spring. Do they make a coil spring isolator? Is there any specific way the springs go in? Thanks.

well the first thing i would try would be to check the spring to see if it is loose, i believe when mine was jacked up on stands the spring was held down by the holders. i know that the spring would only go in one way by how the top part attaches. do you have the little cup inside the bottom part of the spring?? and i know on my Superlift springs the top bracket was tough to install because the spring was a larger diameter than the stock one. that would get you started on narrowing down some things. if that didnt work you could rig (very rig up your components) by taking every thing apart and where the spring touches the brackets and coat them and let them dry with rtv sealant and put them back together and it would act like a isolator. that would prolly be a last resort cheap fix maybe? hope that gives some insight
