Gas Filler
I have to pump gas VERY slowly to keep it from happening. It will also puddle at the mouth of the neck and run down the side of the truck unless I turn the pump nozzle perfectly.
I was thinking it was a vent problem or a filler neck hose problem, but it does it on both of my tanks.
Also, it is probably related, but a lot of vaccum builds-up in the tanks until I remove the gas cap. If I remove the gas cap with a full tank, gas comes spewing back out of the tank (I found this out once and learned my lesson!).
Where are the vents located?? Is the cap vented?? I just put new locking gas caps on and they are worse than the one cap that was already on the truck when I bought it.
Thanks for any info!
On my beater plow truck with a wood flat bed, I have the board over the filler hose loose so I can pull the hose off and pump right into the tank.
On my 78, I have a steel flatbed which sits higher than the stock bed, and I still have to pump slow.
