It may just be me, but does anyone remember/miss the actual words written on the gauges vs the international symbols? For example, oil instead of picture of oil lamp. Maybe I am dating my soul here though.

I find that the newer the vehicle is, they add symbols that have never been used before and I have to look them up.

 

Ya I remember, the gauges I had in my 65 Falcon had words insted of symbols.

 

Yeah, I hate it as well. Now that vehicles are sold globally, they use those goofy symbols so they don't have to use a different dash for every language. I'm surprised they use words at all at this point.
