Replace Turbo

Anyone have any input on replacing a turbo on a 2006 F-250? Anything I need to be aware of?

That is the plan. I am a skilled mechanic and thinking I can do it myself...but not a lot of time due to working long hours at work.

I am not by any means a skilled mechanic. I removed my turbo last year to recondition it. I received all the help from the members of this site.

You will really enjoy having an 8 mm and 10 mm ratchet/open end wrench. Disconnect the downpipe at the cat, then you can move it around while working on the turbo then when you're reinstalling the turbo, leave the down pipe loose so it's easier to get at the rear turbo bolt. Y pipe is a pig to get back on right so it seals, I tried 3 times before I got it. Leave the turbo bolts loose, and pull it into place hard with one hand while tightening the clamp with the other, don't rely on the clamp to pull it into place. Use anti seize on the turbo bolts so you won't offend the neighbors with bad language the next time you have to take it off. Not a bad job, I can take mine off in just over an hour, and I'm a baby compared to Cheezit who can pull one in 15 minutes.
