headlight switch meltdown
I have an 88 F250 4x4 351 auto. All of my lights except my headlights quit the other day and I smelled melting wires. I tore everything apart thinking it was the light/dimmer switch. Instead, all of the wires on the connector for the switch had melted together. The two brown wires were the worst, the insulation had bubbled alll the way up as far as I can see into the dash, (at least a foot or more).
I assume this is what i need, I also picked up a dimmer switch. Store Locator | NAPA Online
Does anyone have a more detailed wiring diagram than the one i have in my Haynes manual? I know I will have to splice wire in farther up in than the 6" leads on the new connector.
