Exclamation oil cap slug

Hay, I have a 2004 f-150, 5.4, 4x4 with 58k. Runs great. Changed the oil, found a lot of yellow/white foam/slug with grit in it in the cap and filler neck. Never had this much, if any. Grity? Coolent system holds good psi.., no H2O in oil. No loss of oil? Problem ?? Thanks!

Nothing to worry about, this is a common issue, especially in cooler/cold weather. As long as your oil itself is good as on the dipstick and you arent loosing any coolant, then just let it go. I have the same problem on my 98 expedition and I thought it was another problem about to hit me but after doing some research, its no big deal.

There's a recent thread that goes over this in depth.

You need to drive it for awhile. It is not getting the oil temp high enough to evaporate the moisture in the crankcase. Take her for a nice, hour long ride at least once a month.

A little help locating that discussion? Date, title etc?

I pretty much assumed the described condition wasn't of concern because I've see these same moisture globs on my oil filler neck---thought it simply didn't get warm enough some days for it to evaporate. Of course the first times I noticed it concern was a bit high----had no initial idea what it could be.
