How many of you are running GM steering boxes

Just wanted to know if any of you have run the GM power steering box from a 65-80 passenger car. I see that Classic Haulers sells a kit for less than $400 and all you need is the box, pitman arm, hoses and pump. I have located several of these boxes locally in the wrecking yards and was thinking of pursuing that route rather than waiting for Toyo box to become available. I see there is problem with frame flex and cracking but the kit comes with a gusset to box that section of the frame.

I thought about going that route on my 49 but changed my mind since the kit was more than a used Volare suspension. Already have a couple of those steering boxes gathering dust in my garage. I think if you gusset the frame properly in the areas where it is known for cracking it should work out okay. Good luck with it, take pictures, and let us know how it went...
