I had this done today when I got my oil changed. The diesel tech gave me a printout of the bulletin so I thought I would try to post it. Of course, my printer/scanner is not working so I took pictures of the 3 pages and will hope that you guys can view it, play with it so you can see it well.
I did search around and did not find a full description of the bulletin. If anybody knows where it is then this ridiculous attempt by me can go away..
Basically, it is for 2011 F250, 350, 450, and 550 6.7L trucks built on or before 11/5/2010.
It supersedes TSB 10-18-2
I can type it all out if enough of you are interested. I'm sure this is out there in FTE cyberland even though I did not find it.
I know you all can't read it, images are in my album page. On my computer, I can just drag the image right from here to iPhoto and zoom it as large as I want.
I still have shifting concerns after the update. Maybe not like before. Kind of hard to describe and put a finger on it's MO as it varies. My dealer said he did the update 12/23/2010.
It will seek out with higher rpms then drop back down and engage. Mostly around town coming off stop signs, around parking lot's etc. Maybe it's nothing but I don't remember my 02 or 08 shifting like this but they are a different beast with 4 or 5 speed only.
So how do we tell if the updates were done correctly or done period?
To confirm the current software package in your truck I would think that you would have to take it to the dealer and have them run the Oasis report to show vehicle configuration. They can print your Oasis report out for you.
About the trans. shifting, after this update my truck is very agressive seeking out the highest possible gear and lowest possible RPM for the motor. It's rather annoying to be honest. With a trailer it shifts a LOT when trying to maintain 45 MPH in city driving situations. I have become an "M" mode fanatic. If I am not eating or talking on the phone, "M" is my choice almost 100% of the time I drive.
check out the new "BOA" feature, mentioned on page 2 of that PDF - right column. Looks like they're taking away "powerbraking" or "brake torque...ing" for you northerners. boo.
My truck has not been flashed to this TSB, but it does limit power if both the brake and throttle are applied at the same time. It only seems to do it with low throttle input. If I hold the brake tight and nail the throttle quickly it doesn't seem to do it. Maybe this calibration heightened the control over this?
