I just recently bought a 2007 f150. They guy who had it before me ran mobil 1 synthetic in it so I wanted to continue running the same thing. I have been changing it every 3000 miles but I was told i could wait longer, is this true?
Just wondering if anyone changing oil at the 5K, 10K & 15K intervals are having oil analysis done? Curious how effective it would be after all that time. Acids forming, loss of viscosity etc etc. Being an old school all-petroleum guy this is one scary length of time to consider between oil changes!
mobil says you can go as short as 3k or as long as 15k but they recommend you do what your owners manual recommends or at least thats what it says here: Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil
I used Mobil1 every 5000 miles; and have since it was new. (In both vehicles in my sig). The F-250 manual states change every 5k, the EL says to change every 7500.
