I know that mobil 1 is suppose to be the best synthetic but what about regular mobil not the synthetic. Is it a good oil.

The usual answer applies...

If it meets the API and SAE spec for your engine, then it is OK.

After that is comes to brand preference and all kinds of arguments can start there.

I have never used regular Mobil so can't say from experience. I do use Mobile 1 and have been satisfied with it, even though it probly is overkill.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson

I have used some regular Mobile off and on along Quaker State or Pennzoil for 30 years depending if it was on sale or not. No problems. One of the cars 1974 Ford Maverick bought new, uses no oil, 155K miles, some by 3 kids. No engine work except for tuneup, waterpump & carb rebuilding.

Although I use Mobile1 in all of my vehicles, I stand by my beliefs that if you change your oil on a regular basis with a name-brand oil, you will be fine.
