Transmission temperature gauge
#31
speaking of the trans gauges, dont they make one that has a copper lead you wrap around the output line and clamp down to show fluid temps? I thought i read it somewhere. If no then for the C6 trans, is there a port like on the e4od? I am getting a flush and fill done and then installing a trans temp but where o where to install the sender. Some of them actually bolt to the pan on the pan bolts.....guess they show trans temp? I would think the fluid temp would be the only important temp right?

for the trans fluid you just put a T in the radiators trans temp IN port.
this way you can read the fluid temp before it gets cooled.
pretty easy.all parts found at local hardware.
i think this is slightly more important than the actual trans temp.however, they go hand in hand really.if your fluid is getting warm, then your trans isn't far behind.keeping an eye on the fluid however, you can see when things are warming up much faster.
however depending on which is used, the temps you need to be concerned with will vary.
