Thanks but I did get the one up here. But I don't have anything to put it on like hinges etc. Not sure exactly what I need? Can you get any of these parts?
The Bronco tailgate uses a torsion bar inside the gate to make hefting its weight simpler when closing it. If you don't plan on putting the glass and window motor assembly into it, you might not need it. But all of the internal components can be had new or used from the forum sponsor and several other companies. NPD, LMC, etc.
wow i would love to make my 96 a half cab nice bronco tom
Thanks Guy's!!

So I will try to take a pic tonight of the tailgate. Not sure about the torsion bar if it's still inside. I would like to have it....I know the window is missing, thats what the guy bought it for. I looked at Bronco Graveyard and they don't have hinges which I need and what ever it is on the body the tailgate latches hook on to keep it closed. So I will keep looking... but OrFordGuy if you can get some good hinges and other parts that would be great! Let me know.
The inside handle is in bad shape but they do sell them new, they even have diamond plate for the access panel!
I left the torsion bar out of the tailgate on my 89 it's not really all that bad to lift without it plus it can't snap and break my new rear glass. I like that coolor Blue your Bronco sets good to.
Its rare that the bar itself snaps. (But I have fallen victim to a similar failure as described herein). Typically the internal retainer (built into the gate shell) rusts out and the torque applied causes the end of the bar to tear through the retainer once it has rusted thin enough. So with a brand new gate this failure is unlikely. With all of the internal components in the Bronco tailgate (window glass, window motor, regulator, latches and mechanisms) it is pretty $%^&ing heavy without the torsion bar to assist if you open it frequently.
I would take this opportunity to suggest that when/if you replace the gate, take the time to seal the INSIDE of the shell with a spray on bed-liner or undercoating type product before reassembling it. I have done this with two new gates (on two different trucks) with very good corrosion protection results. Just be sure to keep drain and bolt holes clear.
yea i probably can find them may but it may take a weekend or 2, my boss has me running all week..pm me iff you find them sooner..
I can't seem to PM on this forum???
The guy I bought the tailgate from is going to try and get me what I need. So I'm going to wait and see if he gets it. Thanks for the offer and I will let you know if I need some parts.

I have some rust in the bottom of the pass door. I was going to POR15 it but I saw Rust Bullet is a sponser here and they claim that there's is a rust converter/ coating where POR15 is just a coating... It sucks the price for they charge for shipping though. I can get POR 15 locally. Has anyone tried the Rust Bullet? This may be the thing to coat the tailgate with also.
