So this problem with making oil and oil dilution causing oil changes to be required at 5000 Miles is due to the Regen cycle. Does this mean that if I spartanized my truck and delete the cat and dpf I can follow fords controversially recommented 10,000mile oil change schedule? What are the guys with deletes changing at?
Thx
I still do mine at 5K, but I have a program w/ Ford dealer. Do your 1st oil change after your delete at the usual 5k. Then, just take an oil sample at the next 5K . Send to Blackstone and see what they say. At 5K you're definately gunna be good. 10K might be pushing it, but it is still in Ford spec as long as you're driving type fits their "normal" driving definition. If you do a lot of towing, etc., stick w/ the 5K oil change.
I mainly drive city but through the summer I make a 200km round trip to the mountains for Dirtbiking at least once a week where the truck can re-gen. On my 6.oh I was changing the oil every 10,000kms(6250 miles) and I'm comfortable with that, it's just harder to remember to change every 8000kms. Would I be OK changing at 6000miles? How about if I don't do a dpf right away(still have factory warranty), could I still only change every 6000 miles?
Thx
I am just saying it is differant for everyone, I have a truck that we change by hour meter, if I went by miles it might be years between changes, I would think you should be fine! I wonder what oil dilution sitting long time in motor would due.
