I got a quote for a set of 265/76/16 All Terrain Atlas Desperado tires (load range E) for $499. Seemed like a good deal. Anyone ever heard of these tires? I know you generally get what you pay for with tires, but was hoping someone had some input.
I'm also open to other suggestions for tires in the $500-$600 range.
If you can get E rated all terrain tires for 500 bucks id say go for it either way... I got a deal and paid $750 for 285/75's that are D rated off brand tires. Where are you getting these?

Yup, $500 out the door seems like a steal. It was some shop in Stockton I found on craigslist. Their phone number is 209.460.0786
I ended up going with a Falken Rocky Mountain ATS. Overall very happy and they do pretty well in poor conditions. I get sketched out last minute about cheap tires so i bit the bullet and went with the Falkens.
On a side note, anyone know of a good alignment shop in the bay area or central coast? I figured it would be a good time for an alignment with the new tires...
Another cheaper tire to consider is the Master craft line of tires, an economy line of tires from Cooper tires.
Don't know about the Masters but Cooper Tires have come a long way since their inception. I had Coopers on my cars and their nice well built tires. I'm sure their truck tires are well built too.
Looks good Walt, your right, alot of tire shops are really carring these tires now. I'm keeping my options open to tire brands but Coopers are up there as a possible choice.
