Wouldn't have painted bumpers on my truck.....useless. They chip. Trucks are for working and chrome holds up better, longer. Just my $0.02. Regarding Lariat and FX--they both look great. Matter of personal choice.
Do chip a little, you got to keep an eye on it, touch it up as needed. The part right below the grille, which is painted on all trucks, takes more of a beating that the front bumper. I like chrome bumpers too, but with two tone paint as I have it would look stupid.
Black plastic is better than plastic wood grain. Look at the FX4 interior. If they made that interior with the same leather from the Lariat with heated and cooled seats it would be perfect. Personally, I love the XLT interior and I would just put in my own leather or use Wet Okole covers because I dislike the center shifter. It uses way too much space and makes it seem like you're driving a car, not a truck.
Evan that's where we differ 'cause I like the center shifter & the wood grain, to each his own taste I guess
Yep. I guess it's just not me. They should offer the option for heated/cooled seats with the 40/20/40 on the Lariat just like they do on the Super Duties because I'm sure they would sell a lot in that configuration. I could deal with the woodgrain or get rid of it somehow if I had cooled seats and no console shifter.

I do not like them either, that's why I replaced them with chrome ones when I had my '05. Painted looks good, but were not durable. I had stone chips in the front, and the step pad was scratching the paint off the rear, causing a rust ring to form.
I will be buying an FX2 next week because of the look of the truck and the better value (price) as far as I am concerned. Painted bumpers a problem? My 2 cars have completely painted front bumpers and they aren't showing much wear & tear. I ain't skeered!
