Wow still going
I still think it was funny but I may just refrain from posting "funny stuff" anymore some people are just too sensitive when they see themselves as the "butt" of the jokes
PS
Give it your best shot at making fun of Canadians heck we have the best jokes about ourselves anyway........ have you seen our present "Leader" ??????????
Good Lord, I saw that stuff coming from a mile down the road. Born and Raised in the States, Did my time in S.E.A. then moved to Canada in 1980. Don't kick a hill of fire ants unless you want to get stung.

I prefer no bush, but that's just personal...
As far as the original post.... For God's sake, it's humor...
Remeber that whole freedom of speech thing we fought for, well, I for one am willing to extend that to our Canadian friends...
Before we get too deep into bashin all them folks up in the great white north, we might want to take a minute to remember some of OUR prominent national figures.
Bill and Hill; Jesse, Pat and Jerry, (the Divinity School Boys); California's own Boxer and Feinstein, the list goes on and on, knuckleheads of all stripes.
Besides, after we took all the good Canadian comedians like Dan Ackroyd, Michael J. Fox and Jim Carrey, (not to mention Captain Kirk and Scotty), who do they have left to listen to besides Rick Mercer?
Well, I understand it is humor, and to a liberal or a Canadian most of it probably is
I just find it un-nerving when someone refers to the most powerful man in the world as an idiot. He did graduate from both Yale and Harvard. His SAT scores were admirable at 1250, although this is not genious level it is the middle to upper 80 percentile of the nation and lastly, just because someone isn't a god public speaker doesn't mean they are an idiot. Let's face it we all have our strong suits and do we really want a figure head (eloquent speaker) or someone who just has good intentions with more than half a brain? I personally choose the latter.
I don't know much about Canada as they are relatively not a part of my daily life, in fact I'd say China is more a part due to their massive exportation to our country. But, I can say I have not knowingly been hurt by anyone in Canada either so that makes everyone there alright with me Live and let live I guess.......... That's my motto in life
One thing I can say for a NAVY career - once I saw enough, it made me appreciate a lot more than the little world I once lived in.
One night on Coronado shores, three of us got together over a case of beer and on a dare we all told all of the racist jokes we could think of - which was interesting lemmee tell ya...
I'm white, one of my buddies was black, and the other was hispanic.
- I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life, and we all went back to the barracks friends afterward.
I realise that something like that might be totally impossible for a lot of people.
But then, maybe one day it won't be. I don't think I'll hold my breath, but I can hope...
I don't have a problem w/ races. It's my country that I will fight and die for so that my kids can have the freedoms that we all take for granted sometimes.
Frankly, I think this is all just a commentary on how stressed and touchy many folks are feeling. I think thats why my Fat Tuesday experiences were so nuts last night...everybody was blowing off steam. Frankly, I thought Sparky's post was funny, and it was pretty clear that he threw it out as tongue in cheek. Heck, I enjoyed it and its not like I take Canuks seriously anyways We must never lose the ability to laugh at ourselves. But I guess I'm not surprised at the response it got, since things are so tense in the world right now and that sinks into our psyche. Yes, this is a Ford board, but this is the general discussion section of it and therefore I find this topic appropriate...in the sense that the responses posed here are pretty insightfull into the undercurrents of tension we all have whether we realize or not. And don't get me started about the stress I feel everytime I fill up.......price gouging, hello!? I'm just glad that we can discuss our differences of opinion in an educated and mature manner.
