2004 extra cab 4X4 XLT 90,000 miles with a 6 inch lift with 35x12.50's and I have started to hear a knocking noise in the front end when I hit pot holes or small bumps in the road. I have had a couple of people listen to it and they are not sure either as to what it could be. It steering is fine not loose still goes down the road straight as an arrow. Any ideas ?

does that thing have a sway bar? check the end joints on it.

There was a post a few months ago that went along the same lines, it will be the sway bar links, they feel good on the vehicle even when you check them with a bar once off you can feel the wear.

 

Check your upper and lower ball joints. If they are still factory, They are known to be junk because they are non-greasable.
