I had a question on the OEM bronco heater. I have a 70 wagon that I had put back on the road. The heater core is new and I have had the box and vent lines completely out of the truck. I am getting very little air movement out of this fan. Has anyone tried to upgrade this system- will a motor or just the fan work out of a 73-79 F150 or 79 bronco- they look pretty similar and I do not remember having an issue with them. Is there an aftermarket system that works well?
There is a Chevy blower conversion that is a popular upgrade. I will try to find a tech article for it on another site. Here it is, you might have to do some reading: http://classicbroncos.com/forums/sho...wer+conversion
I put in one of the Mojave's
really small and makes things very HOT
even with windows down so you can see where ur going
Frees up all that space for a very large storage area also.
the do make a plenum for them too.

(click above) Yes, the typical EB vendors sell them, yes they can B either (many use them in place of the oem just hook up the water hose, use orig. h. control valve) or as aux. (back seat) and
NO
I do not like them.To each his/her own, however (that's why there's chocolate n vanilla).
The oem is fine. May need gaskets or ck the fan/ducts/2" hoses. But as some 1 said - "mine blasts me out" the 1/2 cab (did when it wuz wagon too) plowin all winter long in the Berkshires @ 2 and 4 am.
Well a little late to the discussion, but I did the Chevy motor and wheel conversion and it was real easy. Puts out a lot more heat and air. Did a heater core replacement just before, too, not a fun process but had to be done (leaking). I'd recommend the change.
