So I just pulled my heater unit on the 79 Bronco, flushed the core and pulled out the AC evaporator that the PO just cut the AC lines to. After fixing my blower motor wiring and reinstalling the unit, my heat works pretty well. However, it is about to get REAL cold here and I was thinking about ways to beef up my heating system. looking at the old junk AC evaporator made me wonder if i could hook it up as another heater core seeing as it is pretty much the same as my little heater core times 5 and already mounts inside the heater housing perfectly. Ive read a little about this type of thing and some people say it might restrict flow too much but I wonder if anyone has actually tired this? I have no interest in AC but I think this would make a really cool use of old parts and should help heat up the cab when its bellow zero here.
