Stuck Tailgate

2002 Expedition

I closed the tailgate one day and now it won't open. The glass will open, but the bottom lock won't. We can hear movement around the lock but it is just stuck.

How can i fix this? I would rather be able to do a DIY then take it to a mechanic and pay to much for a simple solution if there is one.

Sounds like a problem with the linkage. Remove the trim and take a look inside. probably nothing major

just hit around the lock area with your palm.

then step back and say... AYYYYYYY like the fonz.

works everytime.

Should be pretty straightforward, but i haven't done it in a while. i seem to remember a couple screws at the top, above the window, and a couble at the bottom. if you run into trouble give a shout and i'll take a look to refresh my memory
