You can usually fix them. There are 3 delrin rollers inside the gear box that shatter after a few years. I did a post about a year ago with pictures on it if you want to fix it for real cheap.
the plastic peices thatmake up the busings on the front cover in mine turned to little peices and crumbled to thousands... it was rediculous. junk yard 15$ day and its good too go. not spending naother 60$ on one LOL
i cut a tab in my door to get to the 3d bolt on the motor just to make lifeeasy, or ifyou have a dremel go too town, thats what i did to make it clean.
If your motor still spins but the window wont move your torque pins are gone. This happened on my 89 Bronco. For $7 i fixed it.
Motormite 74410 "window regulator gear plugs" will fix you up. I got them at my local Advance Auto Parts.
It it doesnt spin the motor is dead. I've gone through two dead motors on my driver's rear of my CC. Seems like a common motor to fail, but i have a lifetime free replacement.
To answer your original question window motors arent hard to replace. If the motor has never been replaced you will have to drill out 2 holes to get access to the other 2 of 3 bolts holding the motor. Mark your spot and step through your bit sizes. Once you can get to all 3 bolts, loosen them and the motor will fall right out off the regulator, and putting the new one just as easy.
