FINALLY resolved my cracked door problem
After printing MANY pages from this site about the F-150 ('97-'00) cracked door problem and requesting TSB's from the National Highway Transportation Safety Board AND wondering who to write to next, my husband and I resolved the whole problem. We are buying an F-250, four door tomorrow night. Even though we have two lease payments left on this vehicle and I brought the crack to the dealers attention as well as the cracks on the three used F-150s on his lot, he's paying our last two lease payments, buying the truck from the bank and giving us the F-250 we want. What a deal, huh???

FINALLY resolved my cracked door problem
On the Ford F-150 and F-250 Light Duty trucks from 1997-2000, many owners are seeing stress cracks in the sheet metal of the door, mainly the driver's side but also reported on the passenger's side. If you have this problem, you'll see it around the lower right side of the window next to the gasket. Some owners have good service departments who know of the crack and repair it. Other owners have bad service departments who know of the crack but deny it and won't repair it. To see these threads, type "cracked" in the search field for this forum.
