Which Muffler???
thinking Single in single out, or single in 2 out.
Gonna exit where stock exhaust currently exits (behind back wheel passenger side). Not gonna do it myself, muffler shop will do it for me.
completely obnoxiously loud???, go with straight pipe
If you looking for rumble...the shorter the muffler the more rumble.
your local shop should offer some solid advice.
you tube can give you sound clips of just about anything.

Have you ever heard a WickedFlow drone? No, first off you haven't even bothered to find out what they are or what they sound like. Second off, they are the quietest straight through muffler and possibly the quietest performance muffler of all. I have used them in worst case scenario vehicle, and used them to replace other performance mufflers where people were tired of the noise.
The number one complaint I have gotten about WickedFlows is from people who expected them to be as loud as Magnaflows.
I'm just putting out the facts. A WickedFlow MAX is quieter than a comparable Magnaflow. It is measurable, and verifiable. They are designed to suppress and control the frequencies most often responsible for drone, not amplify them. The result is a smooth deep rumble, most often associated with high end mufflers like Borla.

I will make this challenge;
Bring two of your mufflers, I will meet you at Magnaflow in Oceanside, Ca and Allied Exhaust Systems in Montebello, CA; let's cut theirs and yours apart, measure flow, DBL levels, etc and really see just what all you degradative comments are really all about.

Exterior sound level on an Aerostar during ordinary driving conditions to illustrate the zero drone effect.

and I don't have the dyno chart on this computer, but on my personal 1996 Ford Taurus, I gained 9 horsepower from stock using WickedFlow.
Maybe I wouldn't make such claims if you wouldn't recommend a product that is known to cause the exact condition the OP is trying to avoid. If you really want me two, I can get a sound recording of my mom's 1992 Aerostar which has to have two Magnaflows inline on it, and it still drones It is painfully loud to those in the back seat. Versus the WickedFlow Max on the same vehicle, where just a single 18" unit is the same sound level at idle as stock, and when cruising at 65 you get the same result, the interior dB level is identical to stock.
I do have a couple Magnaflows I can cut apart, I'm just not sure on the best way to do it without damaging the packing material. You can't torch through it without harming the insides, and I'm afraid a chop saw will pull the innards out. But without cutting them open, I can still show you my gallery of failure, which largely features the large number of Magnaflows waiting to back to the distributor for warranty reimbursement.

Which is really quite appalling considering that one costs more and is the better known brand name.
It's like saying, watch this tire fail as I take a grinder to its sidwall and after 30 seconds- it fails....but the Wickedflow tire sidwall takes the grinder for 60 seconds and no failure-
ok, so it does.....but it does not test in any way form or fashion the level of stress that the sidewall can be exposed to and is it adequate in design & strength to resists failure from sources that are most likely to cause damage.
BTW for those who may not know...
Wickedflow is located on Stoddard Ave in San Bernardino, Ca
It is essentially a muffler shop where they build these mufflers. They distribute these through a handfull of muffler shops in the west part of the US.
I'm not saying in any way their products are good or bad, but their "marketing ethics" are absolutely questionable.
As for drone, with a little common sense while picking the muffler, no system drones. Unless its got a 460 in front of it, then, I guess you are screwed.
