I am tired of this thing going off everytime i go into reverse!
when it is really freezing like 10degs out it goes off everytime i put it in reverse
when i wash the truck it is worse yet only has to be 30 deg
the 08 i could just hit the button on the dash
the 2011 i have to arrow down and hit ok but that is hard if you are turning the wheel backing up
The only problems I am having with the backup chime is I can't hear it over the backup alarm and that it seems to have a rather large semi circle coverage. It picks up my garage side walls as I am backing out.
Does it mess up the system to just unplug the sensors back by the bumper? Short of this, I don't think you are going to find anything that does what you want by original design.
One thing my brother found out (2008 F350) is that these units can have moisture build up inside them. He was told that frost was causing his problem. I spoke to him yesterday and he told me that he found one unit that looked like moisture had gotten inside the unit.
When I get the energy, I will go look at mine and see if these units have a seal on them. Where there is a seal, there is a chance for a leak...
With the basic info screen, it's very easy to turn off the sound so I don't mind.
I know the reset (down) button turns mine off and I think the setup (up) button does too.
Does anyone have a different vehicle with this system and does it do false alerts (such as a Honda if they have it)?

I drove two different Ford Fusions over a couple of years and never had an issue.

Would not really mess anything up, but would set a few DTC's...
