2011 Order Delivery Periods

Like some of you, I've got a 2011 F-350 Lariat with the 6.7 L engine on order and I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my truck. I've been following the order delivery times for 34 different posters on several sites like this one to get a better idea of how long my wait will be. These posters have ordered their trucks anywhere from the month of December through April.

Here is the order to delivery (to owner) wait periods for the 2011s to date:
  • December orders: 100% of trucks delivered (4 trucks tracked), average time from order to delivery, 16.8 weeks.
  • January orders: 67% of trucks delivered (9 trucks tracked), average time from order to delivery, 14.0 weeks.
  • February orders: 75% of trucks delivered (8 trucks tracked), average time from order to delivery, 10.5 weeks.
One good thing to note is that the delivery times are getting shorter with each passing month and that's good since I ordered my truck in late March. It should also be noted that production did not begin until February 22nd, so the actual production to delivery times are somewhat better and range from 6 to 10 weeks (so far). With the 4x4 module shortage and the hold on shipping until March 29th, this has caused a huge backlog of trucks, and coupled with the popularity of the truck, we now have over 33,000 trucks in the order bank.

Like some of you, my dealer told me I'd have a truck in 6-8 weeks, but that's obviously not going to happen for me, and has not happened for many of you with trucks on order. I guess the best thing I can do is be patient, but I need my truck much sooner than later.

Great info. Yes, it is a matter of expectations. If you expect the best-case scenario, you're going to be disappointed. Plan on some start-up issues, it's a lot easier to wait.

You can add my order to your spreadsheet. 4/12. No VIN or build date yet.

I've got you on the chart and changing your order date from 4/14 to 4/12. When folks get an update on their order status, I can add the info to my chart and I'll post an update here.

Ford started production one week later than planned (2/22 vs 2/15) and the problems with the modules and other issues added to the difficulties. My hope was once the backlog of orders (dealers ordered in November and December) and production got underway, that my truck would get here in 6-8 weeks.

My dealer has been very good to me and he invited me once he got the 2011s on his lot to come down and test drive a F-350 (he's got 3 Lariats on the lot but none have the features that I ordered). The truck is clearly everything that I had hoped for and more, so the wait, while painful, will be worth it.

Great Ice - That's kind of fun. It would be interesting to see the data from Ford directly. That would give some precise info.

My guess is that your truck was among the first 11,000 trucks that were built and were stored/repaired/QC checked. My dealer has said that he's waiting on a November order that has not shown up yet as well. Sounds like the first trucks stored are hard to access and the repairs on the early orders were supposed to be completed by April 30th.

A December 15th order for one of the posters here, asphaltman, just showed up this week, that's got you beat by a couple of weeks. Here's to hoping it arrives ASAP.

Yeah, mine was one of the first built and stored in the lot. I am being told from Ford that May 7th is the date the dealer should expect to see it. My dealer called me today and said he talked to the delivery company and that it might arrive tomorrow. He told them it was critical to get the truck delivered and the delivery company said "we have way more trucks than we know what to do with and they are critical deliveries".

Hopefully it shows up tomorrow.

Ordered Mar. 22, delivered April 26.

My problem is that I have to wait another month for the outfitter to install the expidition style coach body on the chassis. If your interested take a look at Tiger Motor Homes - Provan Industries - Home

Wow, sounds like you hit the sweet spot. Earlier orders were pinned up against the fence and later orders are waiting for 4X4 parts. Got any numbers for the lottery?

I could have slipped in on the "fleet orders get priority" rule, since the order was placed by Provan (the coach builder).
