You will never hear me quible about paying the price. I saw alot of posts on here over the last few years where guys have complained about shops that "didn't do it right" or "couldn't figure it out". I think guys who dont have a relationship with a GOOD diesel shop close to them are really the ones who pay the price .
Let me go ahead and plug the Diesel Doctor in Fairbanks Alaska. The treated me right.

It's called "rideing the wave". Reminds me of when the I-Beam suspension came on the market. Alignment shops were charging twice as much to alighn a Ford I-Beam as what most vehicles cost. Thier justification,,,,,,,,,,,,,???,,,,because they had to "bend" the axle in order to set camber and"twist" the axle in order to set the caster. Adding insult a-top injury, after paying hiway robbery, they wrote "no warrant" on the invoice because they were to stupid to realize the whole tire wear problem was shock absorber related. That went on for at least 3 to 4 years before most everyone wised up. When that scam started dieing off, they started selling suspension rebuilds on torsion bar Dodge and Plymouth because when you did the same test as used on GM cars, the suspension apeared to be worn completly out.
Point is,technicians didn't become inept and dishonest only after the 6 liter came on the scene.
