EGR Valve/Cab Off??

I started loosing coolant last week and noticed the truck was smoking (White) more often than usual. Took it to Ford and was told to add some water since it wasnt that low and drive it a few days and keep checking the level. Well I did that and the truck is still losing coolant and smoking. Took it back this morning and was told we need to change the EGR valve but was also told it was a cab off repair. Has anyone else had an EGR repair and did they have to remove the cab?

EGR

Just looked in manual the egr valve is on top of motor does not need cab off .And the coolers can be done with cab on also

Thanks. I was told the same thing today from a guy at work. I think the Service Tech wants to take it easy the week before Christmas.

not a cab off, EGR valve is right up front on top by the fan shroud....

as said egr valve is like 3 bolts on the top of the engine.
egr coolers. its a day long job on a cold engine. far easer to do with the cab on
