2002 Ranger Injector issues.

My check engine light came on after arriving to Denver and within days I noticed a significant loss in power. Over time it became worse do I took it to Ford and the said that my plugs, wires and injectors need to be replaced. I can do the plugs and wires myself just unsure about the fuel injectors. As anyone had any experience replacing them; is it something that can be done by someone with some mechanical experience? Thanks for the input.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

I failed to mention that the truck is a 3.0 V6 Edge.

Before you begin throwing parts at this problem, post the computer trouble code numbers that the Dealer found that caused him to suggest replacing plugs wires & fuel injectors.

Plugs & wires do wear with time & mileage, but fuel injectors last a lot longer & rarely go bad & all of them going bad at once is suspicious.
They can get dirty & that can mess up their spray pattern, but most times they can be cleaned to fix that, rather than replaced.

If you don't know the code numbers, look on the Dealer work sheet.
If their aren't any listed & the CEL is still lit, run this puppy by your favorite autparts store for a no cost compuer trouble code scan & post All of the trouble code Numbers found.

More vehicle maintenance & repair history & mileage info might be helpful, like where are you on all due past & present scheduled maintenance items & any recent repair info. Is this a flex fuel 3.0L????

Advanced red the code and it came back as a P1151. No flex fuel. I just replaced my plugs and wires and now the truck wont start. I triple checked the routing of the cables and everything checks out. Could i have damaged anything if I had two incorrect and started the truck. The next thing im going to check is the plugs to make sure they are not out of tolerance. The truck fired up and ran fine when i picked it up from the dealer.

P1151 is lack of switching on the bank-2 up stream O2 sensor & it's indicating lean.

How many miles on these O2 sensors????

If you swap the bank 1 & 2 O2 sensors, does the trouble code follow the sensor????
If so, suspect the sensor. If not, maybe suspect a vacuum or intake or exhaust manafold leak on bank-2, or maybe a wiring problem to the O2 sensor.
