I thought this tranny swap was going to be easy.... yeah, what was I thinking!! I have a 67 F100 that I took out a 460 with a C6 and putting in a 300 straight 6 with a 4 speed w/overdrive manual. I was putting in the clutch/brake pedals when I noticed the shaft from the power brake booser is shorter. Hooking up the brake pedal will only give about 2 inches of brake pedal. Do I need to change out the brake booster or can I just replace the shaft??? How do I know if the brake booster I have is adjustable?? The problems and questions never seem to end on this project. Thanks in advance for the help!!

are you changing the brakes over to power or is it all the same as before? If all the same compare the 2 brake pedels you could put the 67 pedel on the new clutch pedel bracket. If your changing to power there is a bracket that the power booster boltd to and that bolts to the cab and has a bracket that bolts to the brake pedel and brake booster.
What did you get the clutch/brake pedal assembly from? I take it you did not grab the arm off the donor truck for the brake arm? You can make a longer arm by splicing in a turnbuckle set-up. Look at it this way, you need to fill the distance between the pedal assembly and the push cylinder on the booster, be creative in how you accomplish that. My guess would be easiest to buy a new booster/master brake assembly for the year donor you used and see what parts come with it...

The donor pedal assembly was out of a 71, not sure it it was original to it. I ended up putting in a 1 1/2 inch plate between the brake pedal and booster rod. Works good enough for me. The 71 donor vehicle also had a different steering column in it with no shift assy. After installing the steering column to the p/s pump, as I get ready to attach it to the dash, the bracket on the column is approx 2 inches lower. The fun never ends. I have a hose clamp temporarily holding it in place until I can figure a good fix.
