Looking for opinions out there on which is better? I got a qoute of $1200 for a Sky Jacker 4" lift kit. Is this good? I should have my qoute for the Superlift tomorrow.
Is it a good idea to get the shocks that come with the kit or should I get the kit, minus the shocks and get something different?
Superlift shocks stink, don't get them. I had some trouble with my superlift kit but other seem to like them. I've here of a lot of people getting either of those two brands, never heard a bad thing about skyjacker. Both are pretty good. I'm going with skyjacker for this truck vs superlift because of my past experience (alignment trouble, parts not fitting...).
hey i just put a superlift 4inch on my 1999 psd f-250. i love it. it is a very smooth ride and way better than stock. you can see pics of it in my gallery i have the dual shocks up front to it helps control the extra weight ot the deisel. great ride i think. i installed it my self and every part i had lined up good and i dident really have any trouble doing it.
I don't know about the newer trucks, but I put a 6" Superlift on my '81 and I love it. The kit was complete, I needed nothing else. I love the soft ride, you don't feel bumps. My buddy has a 6" Skyjacker, and it is rougher (Of course he is driving a '92 Dodge 3/4 ton gasser so it is a heavier duty truck than my f150) but I know he likes his as well.
Thanks for the input. After looking at this further, I have to say that I was totally not impressed with Superlifts web page. The first 3 dealers on the list for Michigan that I called are disconnected numbers. The fourth place recommended a BDS system over the Superlift. And then I called a distributor from their list in Illinois - they said that they were bought out 2 years ago and do not carry the superlift.
Makes me wonder about the service and what their financial situation is like. Also, looking at their postings, they have maybe 2% of what this site has. Maybe...

Seems kinda funny since they list on the website as of 2/4/03 that they fixed the problem affecting the display of over 250 dealers in the Dealer Directory. But it seems that David Stacy of TNN's trucks is doing a complete installation of Superlift's 8" kit this Saturday and Sunday.
I just installed a 4" lift on my 99 F-250SD today with a Super Lift. I'm in total agreement with the earlier post in that the ride is great. It is at least equal to the stock ride and better than a buddy's rig who has a pro comp lift. I installed it myself in about 7hrs. All parts lined up perfectly and there was really no problems. I paid about $780 for it at 4 wheel parts warehouse. I have nothing but good things to say about the kit thus far.
