I guess I'll deal with it and then cage it when I get some time and money. I've already done the shackle in the front, so I guess I'll pull that track bar and see where that takes me (hopefully not into a ditch!). Does anyone else know about that track bar issue?
Anyways I got bored when my buddy came over, so we got into some more suburban redneckery...
If you did a shackle reversal up front then you can lose the trac bar. That is, the swing shackle is in the rear of the front spring, not the front. If that's what you did and the last picture is your shackles being forward of the hanger you need to relocate your brackets and get a better shackle angle on that thing. Unless I'm seeing it wrong. Can you take a close up of your front spring shackles and your rear spring shackles?
No, you are definitely seeing it right. It's on my list of things to do... I was pretty pissed when I put the lift springs in and it ended up like that. That's one of the reasons I was looking at getting new springs made, but I haven't decided what I'm gonna do and when to do it. I'd like to just redo the whole front end and move the front axle forward so I can put Rockwells under it eventually without beating up the bottom of my engine.
Anyways, you are right about the shackles. The rear actually isn't bad. I'd like it closer to 45*, but right now it sits at about 60-65* from horizontal.
Well, then get your shackles fixed and loose the trac bar and I think you'll see a significant improvement. Those are two of the biggest things that affect your ability to flex. Did you replace all the bushings in your hangers and spring eyes when you put the new springs on? If not it COULD get a little loose when you lose the trac bar, but if it starts giving you problems either replace all the bushings or get a longer trac bar and find a way to mount it at the same angle as your drag link and ideally the same length as it, because they need to travel in the same arc or you will experience bump steer. Your front end is so stiff right now with the shackles and teeny trac bar you probably don't have any problems with bump steer, I would venture to guess.
