I have a 1996 5.8 Bronco. Heater core keeps clogging. After the cooling system was thoroughly flushed this time last year. I replaced the heater core after flushing and replacing the antifreeze. It was OK through the remainder of last winter. Now it seems to be clogged again. ( One hose is hot the other is cool) Any suggestions??
Is the radiator original? It sounds like you had some stuff that didn't clean out of the radiator during the flush and now it plugged up your heater core again.
You may want to take the radiator out and have it professionally cleaned, and then put in a new heater core, just to be sure there's no more junk.
take the rad out and take it to a radiator shop. they will do there magic and while its being worked on replace your heater core. nice thing about our rigs is the heater core is an easy change out.
also make sure you are running a 50/50 blend in there and use a good quality antifreeze. If the rad hoses are also old take this time to replace those.
