looks like another keyless thread lol

today i bought and installed the bulldog keyless ke1702 system

install was simple

my question is with the parking light confirmation

the keyless module gives a (-) negative ground when the doors are locked or unlocked... it does this to the brown wire for the parking lights...

anyways if that made sense then my question is do i need the 775 relay or do i tie it into the parking light wires...

the truck i installed this in is a 1988 f150 xlt lariat

with factory power locks and power windows

Your parking lights definitely are not going to turn on if you ground them. I suspect you need the relay, ground it, and let it send power to the brown wire.

k thanks thats what i was thinking but i just wasnt 100% more like 90% lol

ill grab the relay tomorrow hell its only $7

i have and extra one laying around from my e fan install but idk if i can use it for that or not...

i havent wired many relays for this purpose...

http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew...me%20Light.pdf

hope that link works... the relay i have doesnt have a center prong on it... the one they have numbered as 87a

but i have one that has 30 86 87 85

and on their diagram it shows the yellow for the parking lights going to a (+) positive and the dome lights yellow going to a ground... would i hook it up as a positive or a ground? im not doing the dome light part...

and do i have to do the 1 amp diode?

idk... ill go look at the relay they sell lol maybe it will have the diode and everything else coz i dont have a soldering iron or wire solder here

I am thinking you would not need a diode if you only use one relay, but I am not sure so just put one in anyway.

You don't need the 85a terminal. They don't use it, and you don't need it either.

Basically they are hooking a hot wire to the coil terminal 85. But the relay does not kick on till the security unit grounds the other coil wire which is 86. This makes the relay "click" and connects terminals 87 and 30 together. Of course when you do this, you are putting the hot wire onto the brown parking light wire.
