Squealing noise
I have a 1997 f150 side step pickup. It has about 94,000 miles on it. The belt squeals like crazy. I have tried 3 different belts and replaced the belt tensioner. When i took the belt back to napa they said that it looks like one of the pulleys it bad because it is creating a groove in the belt which is making it squeal. I think this is true because everytime i put a new belt on the squealing goes away for a month or so. I dont know much about this stuff but if anyone knows how to tell what pulley is bad it would be great help

wash all the pulleys with soapy water (laundry soap and water and a paint brush works good) make sure nothing is stuck in any of the pulley grooves. Look at each pulley and see if it got smacked and has a bent groove. spin the alternator, water pump, AC, and idler and examine each for free wheeling..
